I’m Pedro (Jay) Johnson, I'm originally from Birmingham, Alabama "Roll Tide". I am a certified personal trainer with the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA) and a retired U.S. Army veteran with 21yrs of physical fitness training and Master Fitness Trainer (MFT) experience.
The reason I became a certified personal trainer is because I love helping others achieve consistency in their "Fitness Goals". I am truly passionate about wellness, and helping people obtain the right fitness balance.
As a personal trainer my goal will be to provide my clients with a motivational fitness routine, while assisting them to transform into a healthy and energetic version of themselves.
Fitness and Sports has always been a part of my life since middle school and throughout high school. I was always participated in various sports such as track, basketball, and baseball. During my military career, I had the honor of training and mentoring hundreds of soldiers on the importance of physical readiness and healthy nutritional choices. Near the end of my military service, I hit my lowest points in my physical, emotional, and nutritional health. In a two-year span I had to endure multiple surgeries on various parts of my body. The surgeries hindered my ability to maintain a daily workout routine which led to depression, inactivity, and unhealthy eating habits. My weight during that two-year span increased by 57lbs and my self-confidence were at an all-time low.
During my recovery, I made a conscious decision to slowly reengage an active and healthy lifestyle. I started by joining the local gym and walking/running a mile daily. My fitness ambitions helped me train and finish my first Army Ten-Miler Race in 2015.
I experienced from my own journey that the destination to changing your fitness and health are through CONSISTENCY, MOTIVATION, and DETERMINATION.
